Summer Weekend was bred by Emerald Point Farm and sold as a weanling.  Her new owner showed her with much success during her yearling year; however, she suffered a career ending injury the winter between her yearling and 2 year old years.  Summer came home to Emerald Point in 2011 and began a 2nd successful career as a broodmare.  In addition, Summer Weekend performed as a carriage driving horse, paired with her brother Soaking Up The Sun.
